Permit Approved!

Application was submitted in January 2021 and review started June 2021. Finally approved in October. The permit hasn’t been issued yet – that should happen next week – so I don’t yet know what the conditions are that are noted on the status. Next week will be a big week for my project.

This means I can finally move ahead to order the greenhouse package.

When I checked with the greenhouse company during the summer, their lead time was 8-10 weeks. The plan had been to erect the greenhouse first and then build the house inside. The key benefits to this plan are that I wouldn’t have to store and protect the greenhouse materials on site, the house wouldn’t be in the way of the Genie lift while erecting the greenhouse, and the greenhouse would provide shelter from the rain while building the house.

Now, however, the greenhouse delivery time is 12-14 weeks. I’ll meet with Matt, the builder, next week to figure out the best way to proceed now that we, finally, have the permit.
